Dear Rhodes Community Members,
I send you my warmest greetings! I hope that you are all safe and taking very good care of yourselves and your loved ones.
We are all deeply concerned about the health situation in regard to the Corona Virus. This matter is, of course, critical for China but it is something which affects the whole world. I am in awe and admiration for what the authorities in China are doing to contain the spread of the virus. I salute the countless brave men and women who are on the frontline of the battle, in Wuhan and the rest of Hubei Province. I have every confidence that this battle will be won and life will return to normal in due course.
At the International School of Rhodes, we have put together our own emergency measures to ensure that teaching and learning will continue at the best possible level. I should like to thank Acting Principal John Zhao, Vice-Principal Mohammed Naseem and Student Council Chair Amber Zhu for their fine attention to the detail required to ensure that our academic program will continue as normal from Monday the 10th of February. I have total faith in our excellent teachers who will use our online platform to ensure that all of our students will continue to receive the best education possible under these extraordinary circumstances.
We should see this health crisis as an opportunity for growth and reflection. Remaining positive at all times is key to overcoming this challenging situation. The great Latin proverb, ex unitate vires, from unity comes strength, perfectly sums up our situation. We have a wonderful community and if we all work together in the future, as we have done up to now, then we shall grow in strength.
I urge you all to be positive and strong.
